Ramble/Question

So... Sorry if some of you [guys] may find this a bit of an awkward topic, but hey, sucks, it's my blog, so deal with it... XD

So anyways, I've started reading this book and I just got it from the library yesterday and got to this part, "Tampons. I'm constantly worrying about my stash and if I'll be able to find more" okay, so first, this book is The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey. This book (as far as I know) is how a girl lives her life in an apocalyptic world dominated by aliens. I may be totally wrong, but I'm only about 40 pages in... Or 20.... Or 60... I don't remember... Too lazy to check, but I was wondering if that would be a necessary thing to think about packing along. After a slight discussion, I guess it would be necessary, judging the fact you don't want to risk disease and such, but I think that it wouldn't be on the top of the list. Why not just take them out and make more room for things like food, water, shelter, etc. you can probably find something later on... And she has a thing about keeping good hygiene, even in the face of death... Which I find very unnecessary, why be clean if it's going to be dirty?.... And it takes space... She had a box of Tide!!! So.... Question, what would you think is your list of necessary things? And, if you're a girl (or a guy), would you consider bringing/worrying about tampons/pads/etc?

Sorry for the amazing grammar, correct if you want to.
